Our Non Traditional, Traditional Wedding Update
If you follow my instagram, you’ve probably saw that we got engaged in October and shortly after started planning our wedding for Summer 2019! It’s been a whirlwind of ideas, pinteresting, emotions and fun! So we’ve beautifully curated our inspiration for our big day! Make sure to scroll to the bottom to read about some special additions and details we are sharing as well!
If you click the the Pinterest button, it will take you directly to my #happilyeverlangford board where you will be able to see all the little bits of inspiration we are using for our big day!
We haven’t shared publicly our exact date or location, but we can say that it is in August at an outdoor location in Newfoundland. We chose Newfoundland because 1. It’s significantly cheaper to host our dream wedding there and 2. It’s where a lot of our favourite people live! Kevin and I met in Vancouver and we then traveled across Canada to live there for a year. When we were there, a lot of people grew to be very close friends of ours and his family has always truly felt like family to me (since day 1, really!) That’s why we decided to have our “destination wedding” there, plus we had already had plans to travel to the east coast in August of 2019 anyway, so getting married to the best guy in the world while visiting the family is an amazing bonus!!
We hired on a great wedding planner who has gone above and beyond for us so far. Once the wedding is done, I will make sure to do a roundup blog post of all the services and vendors we used!
It’s also safe to say that my dress is on route. I originally tried on this dress during our Christmas vacation and instantly fell in love. I pondered it for literally months before I finally committed! Of course on a “I just bought my wedding dress” high, I also went ahead and ordered the most brilliant veil from Etsy! Click here to check it out!
We have our favours right now being custom made by a small Canadian shop called Bre Creative Design Co. Click here to check out her website! We have custom made some engraved coasters for all our guests to take home - they’re so cute!
To make this wedding that much cuter, we have decided that Coco will be walking beside me down the aisle and I couldn’t be more excited! Alongside that, we are letting things be pretty relaxed; no picking a side to sit on, we will be serving lots of booze, we won’t be having a “first look” and best of all, instead of the traditional guest book, we have another fun idea we will share in our next update when we have it all together!
We’ve hired some amazing vendors for our reception including a Poutine Stand & S’mores Bar! There are so many more ideas we are trying bring to life, so stay tuned!
Most of our wedding is pretty non traditional, but there will be a few key elements that will be traditional at our ceremony!
We couldn’t be more excited to planning this amazing day to celebrate our love! I can’t wait to share more here closer to the date!
